Subject: torque converter ? IP: Logged
Message: My 93' is having a problem that I think is related to the torque converter, When it locked down, the engine ran at about 1800 at 60mph, now it runs at about 2000 at 60mph and I never hear it lock up, is it the converter or could it be some kind of linkage or sensor?

Message: Sounds like the overdrive not kicking in. Mine doesn't drop in until it warms up. Push the overdrive off button and see if it makes a difference. Could also need a downshift cable adjustment.

Message: Funny how all these O/D probs show up as the
weather gets colder.
There is a trans temp sensor located in the
trans cooling line near the radiator.
$6 to $10 for a new sensor the trans will not drop
O/D if its cold or if it tells the comp its cold
Sensor
