Subject: torque converter ?

My 93' is having a problem that I think is related to the torque converter, When it locked down, the engine ran at about 1800 at 60mph, now it runs at about 2000 at 60mph and I never hear it lock up, is it the converter or could it be some kind of linkage or sensor?

Sounds like the overdrive not kicking in. Mine doesn't drop in until it warms up. Push the overdrive off button and see if it makes a difference. Could also need a downshift cable adjustment.

Funny how all these O/D probs show up as the
weather gets colder.

There is a trans temp sensor located in the
trans cooling line near the radiator.

$6 to $10 for a new sensor the trans will not drop
O/D if its cold or if it tells the comp its cold

Sensor
