Subject: Intake manifold gasket IP: Logged
Message: I replaced my Intake Manifold gasket, per Fel-pro instructions, using Hi temp Rtv around water ports. I now have anti-freeze leaking into fuel ports (white coolant smoke). Any suggestions, No RTV next time??

Message: I just had my intake off as well, I used Fel-Pro gaskets but only put RTV at the four courners where the side gaskets meet the cork end gaskets. I have had no problems with mine. You may want to try to redo yours this way.
Good Luck.

Message: You gotta be extremely careful sitting the intake down on the gaskets and gently torquing the bolts by sequence. Both mating surfaces also have to be polished clean. Good Luck,
Shank
Next time a Honduh wants to race Ask him how many sheets of plywood he can haul?

Message: RTV corners only
New gaskets do not need silocon or any other type
of sealer.
