Looking through, the haynes repair book trying to figure out what could be making a 'soild,cam,lifter' noise in my motor. I noticed that the lifter push plates have to go in a certain way. Now if you install these the wrong way would this make like a tap sound like a soild cam/lifter sound?

It would make a noise, however we can not hear your engine. If you have a sound something is wrong. Perhaps you should take it apart and take a look.
