Message: How would your milage decrease with a K/N drop in versus an el cheapo paper filter? While I agree that a homebrew cold air intake is obviously better for the intake the K/N drop in helped on my '93 enough to where I noticed better response. I guess all trucks react different
Mike, I have to agree with Larry on the O2 sensor. You need to change that out--I'm about to do it on mine too although I don't seem to be having a performance issue(not that I know of anyway)

Message: Budysr:
I have no idea why my mileage dropped. I installed the drop-in and the Dynomax the same weekend. I thought that I would see slightly better mileage. I ignored the mileage for the first 300 miles or so because I was putting my foot into it more than before
Home brew cold air with K&N,Dynomax, Superchip Tuner, 1.7 RR,, F&B tb. NAPA cap and rotor, 3923 plugs

Message: Ok larry I will try the scanner example you
gave me...but otherwise I'm thinking my father
is right about this mod it is crap....if by a
chance that my 02 sensor is lazy will it should
show that on the scanner, right? Hopefully
your right or otherwise I will be selling this
Mod and the cable as a package soon.

Message: There's a couple things to know about this---
at most, it's a peak 5-6 hp increase... You SHOULD feel a different throttle response off idle-- but it's all dependent on the mods you currently have, as well the 'tune' of your truck.
If you have a bad or flaky O2 sensor-- or a poorly running truck-- sure, it's not going to give you much of anything.
Adding 1.7s, some headers, etc... would make it work even better.
Spending $75 on a dyno pull for a ~$90 modification is pointless.
I've seen guys with V6s throw on 3" cat back exhaust w/big block mufflers-- and kill all of their usuable torque/horsepower--- all sorts of backwards thinking.
Give your truck a week of driving (200 miles)-- and you'll find if it's running good, it should take to the V8 TB nicely.

Message: rtdakota....i appreciate what your saying but
with everything I told Larry i had on my
truck...he said you will see some gains...well I
havent...If you read my post about check my
dakota...my father and I have done a complete
checkup on my dakota and everything is
running beautifly...even the 02 sensor and it
has 150k+ on the truck....I don't want to spend
more money on mods that dont help that
much ie: 1.7 rr(maybe a little) or headers(loss
of low end) and the only thing worth getting is
a PCM for my truck and I can't even find one
