 Subject: 1988 V6 ignition timing

I was going to time my 1988 Dak tonight. 3.9 liter V6 w throttle bottle injection but my emissions info sticker under my hood is missing. Anyone know the timing marks for this engine please write back. I will be online a while longer. Thanks
Note. They are not in my new Haynes book I just spent 18 bucks on. : (

10 degrees-front of motor-timing chain cover has a tab with 0 and lines on each side of the 0,
there will be some #s 5 degrees,10 degrees,
there is also a line on the harmonic balancer that will need to line up with the 10 degree btdc on the tab[detailed above]
clean both the balancer and tab and put a small
paint mark on the lines of both where your timing needs to be
now unplug the temp sensor [front of motor,by the thermostat]
get a 1/2" wrench for dist bolt,loosen bolt so you can move dist.
hook up timing light
start engine
aim light at the tab
adjust dist until the two painted lines,line up,
retighten dist bolt
double check timing with light,if good,shut truck off,plug in temp sensor,unhook light.

what is "throttle bottle injection" some sort of fuel injection that has a nitrous bottle on the throttle body?

throttle BODY injection-not bottle
the throttle body has two fuel injectors=TBI
TB=throttle body,no injectors,,,the injectors are in the intake,near the heads-one for each cyl.

I have an 88 Dakota 4x4. 3.9. Turns over, has gas, has spark,
new cap, rotor, n wires. Backfires thru tb. Trying to time it but
cant tell which mark on hb to use. Full line or half line? I'm
trying to put wires right on dist. 165432 n clockwiseccan'thook
a timing light yet till iI know wires are right. Been sitting for6+
months
