Subject: Dist..Cap ??? IP: Logged
Message: just replaced my cap and rotor..this time I noticed the #1 on the cap points to the #2 cylinder...
using Napa cap and rotor (brass)
truck runs good..
just curious about the cap...

Message: It shouldnt be,
Put your damper on TDC compression stroke and the
rotor should aim at #1 wire or close
If the dist was out anytime the gear may have been
installed 1 tooth off

Message: It should unless it was not set up right, I have
never run in to one as you described being off
always points to #1 on the cap with the #1 drivers
side cyl being #1 wire

Message: what he is saying is that the number he is talking about is according to him is actually pointing directly at cylinder 1 not that the number in the cap is plug wire one.
