 Subject: 2004 Ranger Edge, are they faster?

Any one race a new ferd edge? I think there HP
out of the v6 is around 210! and they weigh
about 1000 less.
My buddy just got a 2004 edge and wants to
line them up. I usally eat rangers with
no prob, but should i or shouldn't i?
we both have 3.55's
but i have a couple mods
any one know of what there 0-60 or 1/4 mile time
is?
would hate to get beat by a ranger

I know I just walked all over my buddy's 2003 Edge with the 3.0 and 4.10's. I don't know if that helps you too much, but it is at least something to go off of.

The think that you have to remember here is that the 210 horsepower engine is the biggest that you can get in the Ranger. The biggest you can get in a Dakota as everyone knows is the 5.9. A 5.9 will kill a 210 horsepower engine. I don't care how light they are. You have to put the best with the best.

i am wanting to put my 3.9L that maybe pushes 200hp agaist the ranger.
we both have automatics too.

well, it still isn't much consolation to say that at least i had the option to buy a more powerful truck. what you said doesn't make any sense.
Sic,
I have an '02 CC with 3.92's. It's an automatic. A friend of mine has an '03 edge and he walks on me from start to finish. He has the 4L motor with no mods. Mine is also mod free so far. Being that you have an RC with a couple mods, i'd give it a try.

All I have done to my truck is put in a K&N drop-in and a Dynomax muffler. I have a V6 Club Cab Auto SLT with 3.55's.
Keep in mind my buddy's is a 3.0, not a 4.0. I think the 3.0 only has about 145-150 horsepower. And you're right, the 4.0 has either 207 or 210 horsepower. But I don't think they're quite 1000 pounds less than a Dakota, especially a regular cab (I could be mistaken though).

is there any differnt in the engines between the 03 and 04 in the ranger edge?
my mods,
k&n intake, v8tb, IAT, and glasspack and close to 90k on the engine.
I have raced an 03 4x4 with 3.92 and spank him, but he always gets a jump on me until 25 mph or till i hit second.
I am trying to get a electric fan mod going to help with the low end before we line them up on a back country road.

do you happen to know what gears your friends ranger has? Also, how bad does he walk from you 0-60.
I know i can take him in the long run since my truck shuts off at 115 and his at 96. So maybe i should throw some money in for a 2 mile race? not a 1/4 mile
maybe i should shed some weight like the tailgate, and have close to an empty tank of gas filled with 93 plus some 104+ octance booster.
ahhh man this is bad, staring defeat in the face already, well you win some and you loose some. hopefully i will win or i will never hear the end of it.
p.s the new rangers have only 207hp and the engines are the same in 03 and 04
