Subject: Morning Squeeking... IP: Logged
Message: Some mornings, when it is cold, right after a crank the v6 dakota up a squeeking noise when start. But after about 5 minutes, it goes away Does anyone else experience this and know what causes it? If so, is there a way to stop it?

Message: Yeah... that's what I think... either tensioner or just an old belt. Mine used to do that and I changed my serpentine belt and all was fine. But I've read that a lot of times it's due to the tensioner and not really the belt itself.

Message: How much does it cost to replace the tensioner? If i don't replace it, will it mess my truck up? Thanks for the help.
Also, if you guys know what else I can do to soup up my Dak, LMK...Here is what I have thus far...
Flowmaster Dual Exhaust(1 in/2 out)
Line-X Spray in Bedliner
Big Tires(the biggest you can get on a 2wd) 31 X 10.5 X 15 BF Goodrich All-Terrain.
What else can I do to make it look good.

Message: I think the noise you are hearing is the fluid in the viscous fan. My 96 has been doing this since new. It has 93k on it.

Message: i replaced the tensioner bearing and belt and it still squells.
It tells me the engine didn't stall LOL.
NAPA for the tension bearing if you want it.
