Subject: Gauge Problem IP: Logged
Message: hey, i've been reading about many ppl losing their fuel gauge or even their oil or temp gauge. I was wondering if anyone ran into the problem of the whole gauge cluster going out whenever it feels like it. Usually the speedometer goes first. Please send me any help you have! THANKS

Message: My gauges do the same thing once in a while. They will all go down to zero and the check engine light comes on. Also, i get "no bus" in the odometer. My brothers dakota does the same thing. Usually i just hit the dashboard in a certain spot and they go back to normal. I'm pretty sure it's a loose ground or wire connected to the gauge cluster somewhere. My brother took his to the dealership and they told him he needed a whole new cluster for $700. He didn't get a new cluster ane He got it back and its been fine. Do not let the dealership try to sell you a new cluster. Mine didn't even know what they were talking about. I think its just a loose wire or ground. I've talked to other dakota owners who have had this happen also.
