Subject: Not to sure here.... IP: Logged
Message: Ok, i have a 99 dakota 3.9l of course why would i be here if i didnt, lol.Well, i was out driving it today because my car broke down, (its my dads truck) and i went and did a right hand corner about 20mph and the back end went around and i just about spun out because of it.But the hole thing is it was dry out, no gravel nothing. So now every right turn i make no matter the speed, or if i stop first then take off, the back end slides around on me.Only on right turns. Can anyone tell what the hell the problem is here?
And im only geting maybe 150 miles to the tank.
What should i do to get better gas mileage besides a good tune-up?Because even with that it only gets about 200 to the tank.15 gallon tank by the way.
And one more thing when i full it up, it'll take 14.675 gallons, and thats before the gas light even comes on.Could it have a bigger tank then what it says?
Oh and its 2wd.
Thanks for the help

Message: It sounds like maybe a suspension problem unless you were giving it a lot more gas than you realized...
That's how I wrecked my truck, except it was because of my transmission (speed sensor I think). It wouldn't downshift like it's sposed to and while I was turning and accelerating it downshifted finally and spun me out right into a Do Not Enter sign. Not a pleasant experience.
To increase your gas mileage, you might wanna replace the O2 sensors...I've heard they go bad around 60k and when they do your gas mileage turns to sh*t.

Message: Well, i know i wasnt pushing to hard on the gas, and i just replaced that speed sensor ( on the tranny).Good thing it was only $18.99 for the part and a 5min. job. It's just a big problem right now because my other car (honda) is siting in the garage not running, because the damn fuel pump desided to go out right before X-mas.Damn hondas..lol.Only had it since sept. and next spring im either trading it for a new chevy, or going back to dodge for a dakota R/T.
Whos knows, but back to my car problems.I have know clue what this could be.I do know its not holding wieght like it should.Sags when you have just a bed, couch, loveseat, dresser, stuff like that in it.
So that could lead to this problem i guess.I just need to get it to last till next spring so i can get rid of it.Thanks for any help
