on the drivers side frame rail, its a small cylinder about 6in long and 3in in diameter. Itsabout a foot infront of the fuel tank

DodgeBoy, thanks for the speedy reply. However, i checked from end to end and the bugger is NOT there. Now....I checked the registration and it seems that it was made in DECEMBER of 1993 and was made to comply with the 1994 safety regs. So, I am thinking perhaps they moved it to the fuel tank with the pump, as in the 94's?? What ya think?

well is it registered as a 93 or 94? The 94 an ups were all in the fuel tanks as part of the sending unit. Easy way to tell is to look at the fuel rail, are their one or two fuel lines connecting to it? The inline filter was only used on the return line (2 line) system. In 94 they switched to a single line system and moved the filter

sorry, man. most of the dodge pickups and vans have everything mounted on the fuel pump module inside the tank. the pump, fuel level gague and filter are all one unit. you either have to drop the tank or take off the bed to do that. check out 'fuel pump removal' i believe in this fourm, it will help you out. but, beware, a new unit for my 96 at least, costs 270 from pepboys. YIKES!! ok Gentlemen....I am 5'3", 115 lbs and dropping the tank is not a problem but removing the bed might be!! lol I worked on it til 1 am and am going back to it now. I will post when I finish tonight. By the way....did I mention I am female?

A new pump is pricy for that year dakota. I have a 95 and you can get a pump assembly at auto zone for about $150.00. It is still expensive but it is better that $270

ooooooook....it is registered as a '93 , HOWEVER, the whole assembly, pump, filter etc IS IN the tank. $173.00 + tax Auto zone. Tried bed removal or bed tilt. could not remove one of the bolts nearest the cab so had to drop the tank. Grrrrrrrrrr. Took me 3 days in a COLD gagrage (ohio) with a small heater . Between the fumes and the gas I spilled on my shoes, which soaked them, I managed to get a good case of toxic poisoning throughout my system. Now....to ALLLLLLLL you mechanics, certified and otherwise, out there, you earn EVERY DAMN DIME YOU MAKE!~!!.
