 Subject: An odd thing

Ok me an some of my friends think this is odd.When i first got my dak I ran a 16.98 best time that year with no mods an missing second gear twice.3.9 5-speed 3.21 open-diff.Now 3 years later with a flowmaster exhaust, v8 throtle body, accel coil, air intake, removed clutch fan, stage 2 jet chip(does more in the glove box ), an a set of tracktion bars the best run i had was only 16.86. But on the street I've blown the doors off my buddies car an he runs 15.73.I had him by 2 cars twice so why can't i run that fast at the track i race there all last season had good reaction times an was 8th in pionts at the end of the season(missing some race days too). So any thoughts.

The only thought I have is the drivers. On the street your buddy can't do the same driving he does on the track, or possibly you can't do the same driving on the track that you do on the street.

I thought about that but I do the same things on the street as at the track.This just frustrating,I understand that street an track times can vary up to half a sec. but from what my truck does it's looking more like a sec to a sec an a half.Mabey it's just track conditions who knows.

Don't feel bad because I run SLOWER the more mods I add! Stock was 17.008 at 79mph, with Mopar Pcm,Flowmaster 70, v8tb,FMS #19 injectors, K&N filter, 3.91 open, shift kit, no cat, spare and jack removed, IAT relocate, TPS mod, and a few other mods netted me a whopping 17.032 at only 81mph!! I think dakotas just feel faster after mods, they really don't respond, maybe just mine.
