 Subject: V6 Trans. Problem

I have a 2001 V6 Dakota Quadcab. After 30 minutes on highway, it downshifts from 4 to 3. If I continue, the transmission temp. light comes on. I had a full service performed and it still occurs. I have the ATF4 fluid. Does anyone have an idea on what is happening?

check all the connections but it sounds like the
speed sensor is going bad
