Subject: Cams for 3.9?
IP: Logged

Message:
I thought I remember seeing a post about HP cams for the 3.9 but I am unable to find it.
Are there any HP cams made for the V6 , who makes them and where can they be bought?
Thanks.

Hey dodgeboy, how much improvement did you see with that cam? did it kill your low end TQ?

Intense, I knew you could help me, I checked Speedtweaks but under their cam section they say its under construction, I'll check KRC.
Thanks again all!!

the motor which the cam is in has yet to be
installed in the truck. Its gonna be hard to tell
the gains from just the cam since many other
mods are being done to the motor at the
same time. However, I would not reccomend
this cam to someone with an auto, unless
they plan on change'n to at least a 3.90 rear
endgear and a higher stall tourque convertor

Make sure you watch out for the "Multiple Cylinder Misfire" code with the 112 Lobe Seperation. This is caused by the vacuum being too low at idle at the MAP port. If you get this problem, move the MAP vacuum line over to manifold vacuum and plug the port on the TB.

To be MAP and PCm friendly, it really needs to be ground on a 114 lobe seperation. (Had that done on my custom cam.)

the 114 lobe version I was told was the "blower" version of the cam..I guess not reaking any more havok on the map sensor then the blower allready does. Would there be any performance differences between the cam with the same specs ground on the 112 vs the 114 lobe seporation?

Thanks dodgeboy.

Bernd, will a vac. can help this problem any? I am used to using them on my old Mopars with high duration cams just to keep my power brakes working. Will that code cause any problems or is it just that, a code?

I used a 350 cam shaft and cut it and taped holes
it fit my 3.9 and 350 cam fits and works with the
v8
