Message: Okay, pulled the air hat today and took a peek in the intake manifold. There wasn't a puddle of oil in there, but it wasn't exactly a light misting. More like a moderate/heavy misting. The other thing I noticed was that there was a bit of oil on the butterflies and a light coating in the air tube past the connection to the vent tube. Could this be a vaccume or pcv issue? Truck has 70k miles on it, not sure when the pcv was last replaced.

Message: A light coat of oil like a mist is normal. If the
plenium gasket was leaking it would effect idle
gas mileage and performance.
The motor will draw in ant blow by from the motor
and burn it and will leave a little in the
manifold and on the throttle plates
The PCV is only about $6 replace it.

Message: How much does it effect idle? The truck does idle somewhat rough, but I've heard the magnum engines do this anyway. I've never driven another dak, so I really don't have a reference to gauge it's performance either. As for gas mileage, I can usually get 16 or 17 for light city driving and 18 for all highway.
There was a definate misting, but wouldn't call it light. Is it possible to have a slight leak in the gasket or is it pretty much all or nothing?
