Message: How many miles are you guys getting on your tires? I replaced my factory tires at 35k and i'm replacing again at 68k. I also drive not easily and take canyon roads alot. The center of my tires also wear early even though when i check tire pressure, its usually under if not spot on. Just want to hear from other dak owners...

Message: Is this a 2 or 4 wheel drive?
My 4X4 first set 32,000 because I sliced a
sidewall open on a rock and could not see buying 1
new tire.
4 Cooper Discover at 74,000 were getting there but
ran over a flat file and again could not see
buying 1 tire. 42,000 would have made 50,000 on
those
4 cooper ST's 16,000 miles on those now.
summer low pros same set for 2 years now
I would say 30 to 50,000 depending on the tire
quality maybe 60,000
Also I rotate my tires every 10,000

Message: How often do you rotate the tires? I think the manual suggests every 6-7,500, this makes a difference. On our 2000 Jeep Cherokee Sport I had the Goodyear Wrangler RT/S last around 68,000 miles. This was all highway driving and rotated per the mauals advice. I had a set of Goodyear Regattas last nearly 90,000 miles on a Dodge Shadow with regular rotation. My Dakota came with a set of Dunlop Radial Rover's, about 1/3 wore out and I have put about 10,000 miles on them so far. We will see how long they last. I'm a firm believer in regular tire rotation after the experience with the Shadow.

Message: s-money - This may or may not be obvious, but have you checked pressure with different gauges? - because as far as I know the only thing that causes excessive center tread wear is over-inflation (someone will no doubt correct me with a flamethrower if I'm wrong).

Message: Well You can guess who i work for, I install Futura tires, Haven't noticed any complaints about tires wearing out sooner than they were rated for, but one time i did get a guy in that did complain about tires wearing too fast, and i looked and seen he never rotated his tires, back had 9/32 of tread front had 2/32 of tread, hmmm maybe if he rotated his tires often, he would get the life of the tire out of it. Oh and I HATE FIX A FLAT, IT DESTROYS RIMS AND MAKES A MESS FOR ME TO HAVE TO PATCH THE TIRE, PLUS WHY DO THEY CALL IT FIX A FLAT AND IT MOST OF THE TIME DOESN'T FIX A FLAT.

Message: I am going on 10,000 miles on my set of tires. I bought 4 at the same time and have rotated them once already, and doing it again right before winter.
I rotated them the frist time at about 5,000 miles. they still look almost brand new.
it is a 4WD and I drive on some pretty curvy country roads.
