I was replacing my valve stem seals yesterday cause it smoked alot on a cold start...well I was getting to wonder what kind of TB in (MM). I have not a clue plus I want to make a project of putting a new v8 TB, tb spacer and Intake but i dont know if my stock intake will hold the new V8 TB and if not wil I need to get another...plus what about Low end torque...what will it affect that and if it does is it worth the while in the high end? What kind of TB should I get and is a TB spacer worth it. My friends 97 s10 v6 raced another 98 v6 s10 with a air intake and TB spacer and my friend had him off the line like hell got about 1 truck length on him and then the guy passed him on the higher end doing about 35-40 m.p.h.Would this do the same to my truck or what? Any suggestions?

Thanx in Advance!

The spacer does not help, don't buy one.

The V8 throttle body will bolt on directly.

If you get the correct V8 throttle body, the throttle cable on your truck will fit otherwise you will have to buy one.

V8 throttle bodys really help the V6's out, get one if you can.

All the aftermarket TBs are ok but you can get almost the same results for a lot less with a stock V8 TB.

car-part.com is one of the best resources I have ever seen.

I don't know what makes all of you think spacers are junk. I added a spacer from Street & Performance and I can really feel the difference. Not just in acceleration, but in gas mileage too. I've got a K&N intake on it too.

Spacers are really a great deal...you get 2 things with it.

1.) This cool looking spacer that lifts your throttle body a little higher but really doesn't do much performance or mileage wise.

2.)The mindset that it's really a kickass modification...no need to pay for an expensive hypnotist to come and make you believe they're kickass.

Here I am correcting you again.

They also whistle very loud.

LOL

I do have a power tower spacer sitting in my
garage in the origanal box with the bolts if
you want to try one, make me an offer.

Here is what I found.

Dyno No diff
seat of the paints no diff
gas mileage, did show 1 to 1.5 but that could have
been coincidents

I took it off and has been sitting for about 3
years now don't know what to do with it.

I ran accross a report on the spacer and it
actualy restricted the flow so they opened it
up and left just a little of the spiral in it
and said it did help some then.

I also have a Jet 2 chip sitting on my dresser
that I will get rid of cheap #99501s for 95
dak 3.9 auto trans. Now the chip did help some
with low end and gas mileage

I wish I could remember the great explanation for why those spacers don't work it had something to do with increasing the volume of the chamber which is useless for our beer keg style manifolds anyway. It was instead recommended to modify the plenum divider by cutting it down 1/2" or thereabouts, saw this on the DML. There are pictures and detailed instructions of what to do.

I can vouch for the F&B throttle body, I noticed immediate throttle response just leaving the driveway.

I think the spacers work on Carbed engines.or TB injected..but not on multi-port injected
