when i got my 1990 it only had 38.000 mi and now its got 94.000 mi my problem is when i was towing my boat with overdrive off it suddenly leaked out fluid which came from the front of the tranny or tourqe converter while i was driving at about 60 miles an hour it appeared that the truck was on fire due to the fluid getting on the exhaust ,it was leaking out when i pulled over and left a good bit of fluid on the ground i checked fluid level and it was still full i drove it a short distance and it quit leaking other than a drop or two it still shows full and dosent slip and shifts good it did this 2 years ago while pulling the boat but i never seen what caused the smoke then it was only a small amount then ,my boat only weighs 1500lbs and i try not to go over 50 -55 mph when towing it ,has this happened to any one else or is ther some problem developing please help

if you don,t have a trans cooler put one on.
may have over heated the trans[not good]heat is one of the biggest reasons the trans fells.
if it happened 2yrs ago and not since,then you got lucky this time
