Subject: Slow @$$ Gen III 4x4 V6 IP: Logged
Message: ok just out of curiousity, what kind of times do stock gen III 4x4 V6s have in 0-30, 0-60, 1/8 and 1/4. and how much do mods increase these times if anyone knows.
from what i know about mine and these are VERY appoximate times(mine is CC 3.92 Auto(4100lbs))
stock 0-60 was around 13 or 14
with airaid 0-30 was between 4 and 5 seconds
0-60 was 11.xx just under 12
with airaid and gibson catback
0-30 just under 4
0-60 just under high 10's
whats the 4x4 1/4 like 18???
also i don't want to hear about how much faster gen 1 and 2s are cause the weigh a lot less and mid 90s s10 V6s are faster @ 2700 lbs with 185 hp and 250 lb ft of torque

Message: The stock 4x4 V6's (CC or QC) will run anywhere between a 17.4-17.8 second 1/4 mile. 0-60 isn't something you should try to clock as your trying to move a 4400-4500lb 4 wheel drive truck (not just the rear axle either - the transfer case runs at all times)...with the factory 175HP (approximately 140HP at the rear wheels). That's not an easy task. (They're not 4100lbs...the 2WD Gen-III Club Cabs are max 4100lbs...add about 250-300 lbs for the transfer case, front driveshaft, and suspension components of the 4WD.)
Basic mods to help out are throttle body, intake, headers, and exhaust (keep the exhaust at 2.5" max to retain the bottom end TQ and don't go over 48mm on the TB).

Message: bernd:
its a lot easier to clock rough 0-60 times. you can do it at any traffic light...with a V6 4x4 people cant even tell what ur doing...looks like a mustang taking it easy
btw my trucks curb weight is about 4175(says it on my one of my sales papers)I think the 2000-02 models might be lighter...i know i once heard that a 97 was slower then 2001 on some post
also if that guy can do 0-60 in 9 with much lighter 92 dak and mine is just over 10 im not that far off(considering i started at 12-14)
time for a new mod now...got some money...hehehehe...im thinking jet 2 w/ 180
