I heard they were going to come out with a hemi
Dak.

But unless your loaded and can just go buy a hemi
for $8000 or a whole truck for $20 to 30,000 and
just take it apart it is hard to beleave but
posible.

I have a 03 hemi truck But I would never rip it
apart for something like that. That would get
me put in a looney bin, and I could not blame
anyone because it would be a crazy thing to do

They do have a hemi in the durango now, so it wouldn't be a big jump to put them in the dakotas

in a current dakota it would be. The pain would be the wiring.. you would need a completely new dash and harness for more than just the engine controller.

actually IntenseDak, the only thing you would need is a dif. crossmember, engine mounts and PCM, all the other wiring is present, there is a need for minor changes in the fuel system, mostly a higher volumn pump and the routing of the fuel line in the engine bay, the rest is a drop in. Why in the world would you need to change the interior of the truck for a engine that sits in the engine bay, not the interior? They guys on the design team did not change the dash because it needed to be done for functionality, they changed it just to make it different, and to justify their existance as employees in the company.

go tear one apart and check out the dash... nothing from the hemi's computer will plug straigh into the dakota's dash board. Everything would have to be rewired.

btw, what would changing out the crossmember do? all thats gonna do is waste a lot of time because its welded all the way around the frame rails and supports the front suspension of the dakota. This isnt an old barracuda and you can just swap out k-members!

you would think that someone with the name of "Dakengineer" would at least know that the motor mount brackets on a dakota are welded to the frame and not the k-member.

I don't see how the 5.7 block would be any different from a 5.9(shorter stroke maybe?)Why would it not bolt right up to our gen III body?I don't assume that DC would create an entirely new chassis for one new powerplant. If the other mags are still an option in the new Durango's why would the frame be any different than an older one?And why wouldn't the instruments work. There are adapters for a 10 year old coil to work on a new truck. Why would there not be somebody somewhere that could make it work?I'm curious as hell to see some pics because that is something I will eventually want to do.There is no reason to write a new programming language for one vehicle.I think every sensor and output device can be made to communicate w/each other.NOTHING is impossible(for the man that doesn't have to do it first haha)

the hemi is a totally different block than the magnums.

and non of the magnums are in the line up.. just the next generation motors and the hemi (3.7-4.7-5.7)
