If anyone has an airhat for 2002 3.9 please let me know if you want to get rid of it, i need one. I cut out the metal reinforcement to see if it would help but now the airhat is to flexible and cant get it tight enough to the throttle body cause it starts to collapse and now i'm getting very bad sucking noise in throttle body area, i think it might have something to do with this.

Make sure the sucking noise is coming from a bad seal around the air hat. The Magnum Engines make a pretty loud sucking sound once you free up the intake.

I did the same thing to my intake when i installed my new f & b throttle body. I had to end up buying an aftermarket aluminum airhat from k and n that cost me an arm and a leg, but now i hear 360 intakes makes a cheaper aftermarket airhat. Its worth checking out, unless you can get a stock one for cheap.

next time, before you cut something ask "What is it holding?" "What will happen when I cut this?" and then "Will what happens be bad?" before you cut. You did neither. That is why you would never make it as a mechanic.

Hey 02dak1, I checked the Ebay# that DakHat listed. The air hat looks good and $25 bucks delivered is cheap. There is always somebody on this list set to flame you if you mess up. Ignore it.

yeah, I see that. And the a holes flaming me are probly the ones that i got the idea from on this site! My advice is if it dont work then dont post it cause alot of people get their "ideas" from here.
