 Subject: 1996 Motor questions

Have a friend who is replaceing the motor in his 1996 dodge van. It has a crack in the block. I can get this motor for free and was looking for something to rebuild for my 1994 dakota. They are both 3.9's. I know there has been differences in the years. I was looking at mostly bottom end parts and heads. Are the injection and induction the same. thanks.

Pretty much the same, few sensors are different but internals are swappable.
If the donor is from a auto the crank will need to be drilled for pilot if its going in a manual.

Also the 96 motor does not have the EGR like your
94 you would have to change that. Intake manifold
is diff.
