Somehow, everyone I talk to says DODGE = Transmission problems. I've experienced it. At 52000 miles , like magic, overdrive is slipping. No guts at all on the startup like it's trying to build pressure up and then finally catches, but has no power whatsoever. If I start off in 1st, then shift to 2nd and then overdrive it's fine.. or acts better anyway. I'd like to read some comments on this problem.
Thanks,
Craneman

Message: I work at a jeep/chrysler dealership. I've seen the governor pressure solenoid and transducer cause this same problem. The governor pressure transducer sends the signal to the trans controller telling it the transmission speed. I have seen these screw up sending a signal to the controller saying your doing 50mph while your sitting still, causing the trans to start out in 4th gear instead of 1st.
Have someone with a scanner that can read transmission signals moniter gov pressure. see if it is high at stops and does not move much when speeding up.
The reason you can have better take off when putting it into 1st gear manually is because you are telling the trans computer to override gov pressure.
Hope this helps.
