Message: Does anyone have a reccomendation on which brand or model OBD scanner is best? I would like to stay in the $200.00 range and I have seen an Actron scanner at Auto Zone for $150. I want it so I can get more acurate info on timming and idle speed and for other adjustments. Thanks

Message: depends on what year his truck is.
Most scanners can read and remove codes without
a hard reset and monitor sensor functions but
only the expensive ones like the snap on MT 2500
can read injector sync. $2000
The cheaper ones are fine for most people

Message: Don't waste your money. Insead get a Palm M100 for like $100 and get this:
http://www.pocketlogger.com/?page=prod&prod=loggers
it will give you your trouble codes AND give you all the other data obd2 can give you and let you log it for later analysis.
Trust me this is WAY better bang for your buck
I know for a fact it will work on a 2003 SXT cause I own one.

Message: jumperalex is right, nice software.
I borrowed a friends pocketlogger on his Palm IV and checked out my Dak. It worked great.
I found that my "cold air intake" was really a "hot air intake" when the filter just sits in the engine compartment. So I built a box of aluminium, with a removable top, that encloses the airfilter to allow only outside air to get to it. Boy did that help keep the hot engine air out!
PS: plus you get a nice Palm to keep addresses of all the auto parts stores and the babes!
