Subject: Reset Computer and.... IP: Logged
Message: Unplugged the negative battery cable to clear a code and found the truck is working much better.
The tranny is shifting the best it ever has ( not going into OD too early and locking the converter at the same time). The engine is smoother and pulls much better. I cleared a P0456 which I assume was a loose gas-cap.
Anybody else had this kind of experience?
By the way, I have a 02 SXT. The way to read the code is to turn the key on and off 3 times, as we know. However, when doing so, make sure you see the odometer light before cycling the key.

Message: I had the same problem, also trans was knocking when going up hill. DON'T have the dealer do a flash test on it. Gas mileage droped 5 mpg.
The loose gas cap will get you every time. I have a 2000 SPORT QC.

Message: how long did you have the battery terminal off for. The reason i am wondering is because i just had dual exhaust installed and was wondering if resetting the comp will help performance.
