Hey guys,
I just did a trip from Vegas to Los Angeles and it was about 300mi each way. On the way there climbing up a hill, the truck started stuttering and I had a tick (typical rock in a can sound of pinging). It happened briefly then didn't the rest of the 100 or so miles I had left. I drove it again while out in California and everything was fine, except the night before I left I felt the truck stuttering really bad, and it did it for a while too. On the way home it was stuttering the whole time, except in high RPMS (O/D Off).

My question to you guys, what do you think it is? I think it has something to do with intake and spark, but bad gas could be a possibility. What brand would you guys recommened for an air filter? Also, what spark plugs + wire combination would be best?

Thanks in advance!
-Dan

Autolight AP3923 platnium tip not the APP

Walmart about $1.69 ea

You can get a set of MSD 8.5 super conductor wires
for the 99 5.2 you will have 2 wires left over
but they fit perfict for $60 at summit racing

Awesome, thanks for the reply Larry! I used MSD 8.5s on my LT1 Camaro and they were pretty decent.

Larry, I just wanted to let you know the Jacobs ProStreet setup I had on my 1992 Dakota 4x4 bit the dust. (So much for the 65000 volts max output out of the Jacob's Ultra Coil) I put on an MSD6a with an accel performance coil that bolted in place of the stock coil. I running the standard autolite 3923 gapped at 050.. The truck runs as well with MSD as it did with the Jacobs. My Jacobs is well out of warranty. I running the accel racing wires 8.8 mm on my truck, they run about 150 ohms per foot vs. the MSD superconductor 8.5mm that have a resistance of 50 ohms per foot. ON my 97 dak 4x2 I'm running the MSD 6a with the superconductors and the MSD Blaster coil, right now I'm running the Bosch Platinum +4's. I have haven't experienced the power loss that others have talked about. I bought a set of the 3923's and the AP3923's I think I'll try the AP3923's in the 97 dak and see how they compare to the Bosch +4's.
