Message: are there any long term effects from resetting the tps sensor? i tried this and for a little while it seemed like it helped, but then after a couple hundred miles it felt like it was back to normal again. Also, would the "S" hook mod cause louder sucking noise through the TB? It sucks like a cheap hooker, loud and messy. Why do these TB's make so much sucking noise? Mine doesn't matter if its warm or hot, sounds the same all the time. Dealer says nothing wrong.

Message: Not sure about your TPS question, but the S-bolt shouldn't have made it suck more air. It sounds like your air hat isn't sealing against your tb and it's pulling in a lot of air from that opening.
On second thought, it may have caused it... you increased your airflow a tad bit when you removed that rectangular plate with the old bolt. I wouldn't think it'd be a noticeable change though.

You should here mine when I tromp it with the K&N
extreme top and the hood scoop sounds like its
going to suck the hood scoop right down the TB
Normal
The factory intakes on these trucks are also
designed to silence

Message: I know what larry means. I have a cowl induction scoop and a foam Edelbrock aircleaner, when i hit the gas it sounds like someone turned on a ShopVac under the hood :)
As for the TPS sensor i'm not sure, but maybe the ecm caught on to what you did and adjusted to it.

Message: I have never seen that happen,
The higher voltage red by the comp tells it
that the trottle is open farther and will give
you more timing and fuel.
Here is what probably happend, when you first
jacked it up it was actualy dumping to much fuel
and the O2 has trimed it back to run the right
air fuel mixture, but you would still have more
timing and better response with higher voltage
When I do a hard reset on my stroker for the first
100 miles its hard to take off without spining or
jumping after it trims the fuel back its a little
better, than it takes a 1/4 inch to react the same
If I hit it half after it shifts out of low it
will run about 3500 and chirp the tires every
time
sometimes turing a corner in town and giving it
just a little to much throttle it squels with the
posi and man do the people look at me, sometimes
its hard not to to beat the oncoming traffic

Message: There is no long term effect or harm doing this
mod.
You could go and buy 3 new sensors bolt them on
and I bet all 3 will read differant anywhere from
.35 to .75, my origanal that took a crap was at
.55 befor I modded it the new one I put on
was .72 .73 so I just left it as is

Message: cold air intake, a V8 or aftermarket throttle body
will give you some extra power to play with.
Relocate the IAT to the intake tube and do the
crank sensor mod, it will give you better low end
and gas mileage.
Some quick easy stuff you can do

Message: I have done this sensor mod exactly the opposite from what I've heard here.I was told long ago that on this system(OBDII is what I have on 2000 DAK)full load voltage on the TPS is 4 volts DC.After 4 volts DC,the computer will"trip" because that is outside the parameters of what the tps is designed for.The mil will light up.IOW 4vdc=WOT,so instead of going .15 or what ever over your idle, have somebody in the cab with their foot to the floor.THEN put the volt/ohmmeter on the first 2 pins. When you are closest to 4 vdc.(without going over)then lock it in .elt like an 8 with that mod;-)

Message: so what your saying is if you set the tps up higher when the throttle is closed that at some point in acceleration, like stomping it, you could possibly go over 4 volts which trips up the computer? So your tps sensor will actually read much lower than .75 after you do the reset and leave the throttle closed? i'm not saying your wrong but i've never heard of this.
