Message: Alright, I'm planning on doing the TPS mod this weekend. I went ahead and looked up the price of replacment TPS's just in case I break it. According to Dodge, a new one from them costs $60. A new one from Auto Zone is $25 and Napa claims there are no aftermarket TPS's available. Is the Dodge part outragously priced or is it really a higher quality sensor?

Message: Most likely you will find that it is the same gauage just different package ... I had the same thing with one of the small windows on the rear door ... dealer was $450 Cdn and aftermarket was $300 Cdn ... both made by same manufacturer.

Message: Obviously in C, eh! N, eh! D, eh! you do not learn how to spell using the Kings English. The word you spell GAUAGE is properly spelled GAGE!

Message: HAHAHA LOL that is some crazy funny stuff man. You take the time to read the post, and decide that you need to correct a mans spelling. Then you go and spell the word your trying to collect.....incorrectly. What exactly is a GAGE? haha
i'm not trying to be rude man, that really mad me laugh out loud. I'm just chillin in front of my computer and for seemingly no reason i just start to chuckle. You made me look like a chump in front of my friends in my own house. Congrats

Message: The autozone TPS is made by wells and is a good
part, it is the same thing I have been using on
all the trucks including my own.
The new one I bolted on my truck was .74 right
out of the box, no mod nessasary
Save the $35 the wells is a good part

Message: So when you replaced it, did you notice any difference in low end power compared to the origional. I'm still debating whether to do this mod or not, especially after reading how the sensor actually works. It appears that it is just a voltage refrence sensor. IE, it compares the line voltage to the sensor voltge, so raising the idle state voltage just sets the reference higher. The sensor doesn't see 1.2V it sees an offset of .5V from initial state. So in theory it shouldn't work at all.

Message: most trucks come with a voltage from .35 to .55
when you get that initial voltage up to .7 .75
yes you will notice better of idle and low end
response due to the fact that it sends more
voltage to the comp.
Advancing the timing a little more and adding
more fuel and will solve a lot of off idle and
low end flat spots and improve response time
