Subject: Master Clutch Cylinder failure IP: Logged
Message: Now it is the master clutch cylinder that is failing on my truck ... the gearbox locks in gear after being parked over night and I cannot shift out of, or into gear with the engine off (depending if I left it in or out of gear over night).
With the engine running and still cold and parked on a flat surface and the truck in 1st gear it starts to roll forward with the clutch pedal on the floor ... clutch will not fully engage and I am not able to shift out of gear with the pedal still on the floor. I have to turn the truck off, pump the pedal and pull it out of gear and then restart engine and then the problem has cleared for a while.
If you are having this problem, trouble shot problem by pumping the pedal 5 times ... if problem goes away then there is an internal problem with either the master or slave clutch cylinder (which are the same unit) and it WILL need to be replaced.
Don't let the dealer bulls**t you (as one tried to do) ... took it to another dealer and this is the test that the chief mechanic told me to perform and they are ordering parts for it now.

P.S. over $15,000 CDN in warranty work to this truck and still counting ...
