Truck doesn't run near as good
...there's more, but I'm too tired to recall them. The big one is the horrible gas mileage.

recomended replacement is 60,000 miles

Message: mine (96) has 2, an upstream and a down stream, do i have to replace both? i just got it and has 120000 miles and i figure i should replace em, or my brother just got an o2 sensor eliminator and i was wondering if anybody sells those for dakotas? i figure those would be easier if i ever want to put i custom exaust like ive been thinkin about. Message: isn't there a test that can be done on these sensors to tell if they are working correctly?
Kinda like the tps test? If there is, i would rather check it before i buy a new one.

Message: You can use a scanner to monitor the voltage they
send to the comp or even tap the wire and read
it with a digital voltmeter
On your 2 O2 system the upstream first one before
the cat does all the work and adjusts your air/fuel
The second downstream basicly tells the comp that
the converter is working
(MIL) malfunction indicator light
I would just replace the upstream and not worrie
about the downstream one unless it starts triping
your mil light

Message: I had the the sensor replaced yesterday under warranty.i was amazed at the difference it made truck runs like new, runs really smooth now.couldn't believe the difference.think this has finally cured my rough running engine.hope so I am running out of things to try.

You would also get this code if for any reason the
key was turned on with the sensor disconected
