Subject: Throttle Rod IP: Logged
Message: I can't get my throttle rod adjusted where the trans. will shift properly on my 88 3.9.New engine, looks like the garage left some brackets off.Should the rod be dangling? when adjusted by the manual the rod can be moved anywhere.Any suggestions?

Message: It may be knocked off down on the trans, be sure
its on the lever and operating or it may be lose
on the shaft

Message: Larry, the swivel on the rod at the trans. was broken,I replaced it but the rod moves so much it is like something is missing.I can pull the lever on the trans foward and tighten it on the rod but the rod has too much slop in it.Drags on the other linkage.

Message: you should be able to feel while actuating the
rod right at the end where it hits the secondary
valve in the valve body it should be harder to
push the last 1/8 if not there is something
wrong.
Sounds like the lever is not on the shaft in the
right posistion
