i can spin when i'm turning, not from standstill. and i can't powerbrake for anything - i think that i have some kind of stall converter or something, b/c whenever i rev up with the brakes hard on and then drop my left foot off the brake, my tach drops back down and i lunge forward. but no wheel spin. any suggestions about why my transmission does this?
but i would like a little more power...gibson, maybe? but from what i've heard/seen around here that is more for the looks than the performance gains...

I'm in the same boat as you are. I can spin around a turn but not from a standstill, but when it is the littleist bit damp or dusty out I can. When I first got my truck I could not powerbrake but I have found the secreat. Hold your brake a little harder than you need to a a norman stop, than either try quickly easing on the gas or stomping it. When it starts to brake lose let off the brakes so you dont wear them out to badly.

The reason we cannot spin the tires from a dead stop is our trucks do not have enought power to spin the tires & the reason we not power brake is because of the anti lock rear brakes.

guys our trucks spin tires on turns because there is no weight on the rear axle to prevent lift... one side of the axle "lifts" causing the tires to spin

well i have a 94 dak v6 3.9l and if i hold down the break and hold the gas and let off the break i spin, just barely able to spin, but you can hear it spin

that means that you have a limited slip differential instead of an open. most 4X4 have that. The reason you can spin it in reverse is because they are pulling your truck instead of pushing and there isnt that much weight on the tires then.

I dragrace my dak. do burnouts and it will also break loose on takeoff on a sticky track you have to have the right stuff mods that is and it is not expenesive

The brakes on my 92 are really loose and need to be tightened. The "Anti Lock" light comes on when stopping. I can do some really mean burnouts with little brake resistance and a rollpan.

I can light up my tires no problem even before the truck was piped, mines a 94 and all it has is pipes your trucks must be broken or gay or something

my 2001 cc auto v6 2wd spins from a stop with no prob, I have witnesses, and can do it with 2 passengers and some tools in the back also.
You guys have been robbed...just kidding I have modded my truck alittle, but no sc or nitrous. But it does burn whenever I want.
Oh ya its lowered..hehe, with smaller tires. I damn I guess I don't belong on this post.

Damn. Even before any mods on my 92 Dakota 3.9, I could EASILY powerbrake. I thought that anything RWD could powerbrake.
I know that now I can hold my brake and burn up the tires until they are gone.

your right... we should just rip out our $2000+ trannies, buy a $1000 tranny, clutch, new pedals, bellhousing, the hydrolics and all the other smaller pieces.... should only set us back about $5000.... GREAT IDEA!

the hemi comercial is dumb. i mean RAM 2500 and 3500s are not fast by any means. i mean wow 0-60 in 8.3 seconds, good for a 5000+ lb truck but not gonna be beating any resonably powerful cars cars. although i suppose they were exagerating a bit. why isnt that engine in the dak damn it!!!
