Message: ok WARNING what DAKNEEDER said about way two, sounds like a neutral drop to me...if u love ur dak, don't ever ever ever do that. I made that mistake once with a 1981 Caprice classic and the tranny cracked or some sh!t, smoke started coming out of the hood and it was leaking, when it was over the car was only capablr of going in reverse.
this was right before I made the mistake of chooing a V6 instead of a V8...ugh
oh and i think tire spinning depends on ur tires

Message: Yeah, I believe your right Ll Blackdak, but only about his second method of burnout, and yes its VERY harmfull to any vehicle to do a "neutral drop".
But his first is a well know tactic called a "power brake".
Just for the record, I'm not one to brag but ever since I've owned my 94 RC 2wd 3.9 I have been able to roast one tire [open rear end at the moment] and I mean do it from a standstill no power brake. I have come to the conclusion after reading all the post on this wonderfull site that all Daks are not created equal, even with the exact same specs.
But thats the fun of it all, isnt it?

Message: My Dak won't spin the tires on dry pavement if i'm taking off in a straight line (that's without the limited slip option). If I brake torque it, let off the brakes, and then give it hell, it'll spin all the way the way through first and bark into second (with an auto).

Message: Heh... my Dak likes to squeal when I hit second gear under hard accelleration. I'm not taking 'chirp', I'm talking 'BAWK!'. Pisses people off and really can get annoying.
Power braking? I've yet to do that, mostly because I bet I'll stall it. How does one work all three pedals with two feet? 0_o
Although, I can make it stop squealing the tires easily enough! Get my room mate in the truck. He's like 6' 5", wider than a refrigerator, and must weigh about 300lbs (200 if you ask him. BS, -I- weighed 200 when I went to college, and I'm a skinny guy!)
Scott, your exactly right! Some Daks just aren't as fast... look at the TPS adjustment on Bernd's site. Some Daks are already .75v (mine was!), some are .5v or so. It's all dependant on the individual parts, and how drunk the guy putting them together was at the factory :0)
BTW, folks, this also means that your truck may have more or less power than dodge advertises ;0)

Message: hey intense, u know how everyone says you can't just add the claimed hp gains up of each mod?
If this is true then how come you can stay next to an RT with no nitrous? cause if u add all ur mods claimed hp up u get roughly 250 or 260(kind of like an RT) so maybe even if u didntr dyno at 250 you would still be able to keep up with a car that had 250 hp just because ur engine is just working smoother
performance: claimed hp(truckperformance.com)
rockers 340 15
headers 340 15
induction 240 ~10
jet chip 210 10
msd 6a 150 10
msd wires 80 5
flowmaster 75 ~10
------
175 + 75 = 250!!
so can u add then up or do the ones i left out do more then i think? (purge kit, msd coil, modified TB)
and no too much time on my hands comments please...i know

Message: i would actually have to say that truckperformance is the closest thing to being right....when you see seperate ads saying something like "Up to 25% More Power" you can't believe them...no truckperformance seems to have more modest numbers and they actually change with the engine....compare some of those parts to the v8s and you will see what i mean.
this stupid kid with a 95 eclipse wanted to race me. i asked him what he had....he said "look at that computer right there!" uh huh. "well it adds 40% more power". i said yeah right who told you that? "the guy how sold me the car!"
moral to the story is that this kid things that his 150 HP 2.0 just went up 215 with a computer change! moron...i didn't waste my time running him...i just hit the purge and he said "oh"

Message: Hey Todd,
With a manual you give it enough gas to get the tires spining then pop the clutch and hit the brake with you left foot, then give it more gas. You are going to move forward some, but you'll get better at it after awhile. Correct me if I'm wrong guys(I don't have a manual, there may be another way) but I think that is the how it is done.

When he did his burn out the back of the truck bounced really bad, it did that when he left the line too. Why didn't his wheels stay on the ground?
