Message: sense this is the v6 board i would guess you have a v6 engine, which means you cant get a vortech supercharger. My suggestion would be to get a 5.2 or 5.9 dakota, then worry about making it fast. You really cant do much with a 3.9

Message: I was reading this post and some guy said you cant do much with a 3.9.. Come on there is a lot you can do with a 3.9 it al depends on how much money you have to spend and how much you know..
I tell you what when I was a kid I helped my dad build a 6 cylinder 225 CI motor that would lift the front tires off the ground of a Duster..
Chrysler had a kit out that was called the purple shaft cam kit.. You just bought the kit and it came with every thing you needed to make that 225 beat v8's no problem..
The only thing thing I can remember was that we where running dual quads in other words to four barrel carburators..
I dont know why Chrysler does not have these kits today for our Mopar motors, If any of you guys have heard of these kits I sure would like to hear about where I can buy the kit or check these kits out.. Thanks Quick 6

Message: ok apparently noone has a sense of humor on this board. IT WAS A JOKE. i'm building my motor from my own hard earned money. anyways
Larry: on the stroker.......... the stock ECU will run it? gonna look into a SMT6 sytem anyways but if the stock ecu will work then that makes it that much easier to get set up. and other words of wisdom/advice on the stroker kit??

Message: It leaned out around 3 3500 with the stock pcm but
not to the point that would damage the engine.
more of a power robing situation
Its just that when I installed the Apexi and tuned
it in it had more power. On the dyno it made 15
more hp around 3 3500 being able to add more fuel
at that point, everywhere else in the rpm range it
ran fine between 13 to 15 to 1 air fuel
A relocated IAT and a jet 2 chip almost solved the
lean out with stock pcm, it gave me 7 hp more at
3200 rpm, about half way there
The mopar performance pcm did not have the lean
out problem
1 other thing I ran into was I had to clean up all
the rough casting seams and in 1 spot I had to
grind remove 1/8 to clear the counter weights,
they are larger. But not all blocks are the same.
I went with std piston the worst wear I found at
80,000 was .001 so I just took a rigid hone and
straightend out the bores. you can go .030 over
but if you do that you are at the limit on these
V6's .060 is a big gamble because most castings
are to thin between the cyl and water jacket.
If you have .003 or more bore it or you may
develope some piston slap.
As far as comp ratio, I had a set of KB's made
10 to 1 for the stroker.
I now have 9,380 miles on the motor and it runs
so nice, excellent oil pressure, comp within 8%
across the board 155 160 in every hole.
According to Kenny Bell while talking with one
of there tech's I can run the S/C with 10 to 1
but will have to back off the timing a little more
under boost, Called them to see when the S/C
for my hemi truck would be ready to ship.
Bummer another 2 months, still breaking some
pcm codes and tuning but already the 5.7 hemi
is pulling 530 HP with the blower, I will have one
of the first ones out $4900 with the intercooler
KRC tech told me they are running a vortech
on a 5.2, mopar pcm with the boost retard
set at 0 with no detonation. So I see no prob
running a blower on my stroker motor
I have absolutely no regrets for the money I spent
to do it, the low end power diff is like night and day.
I have a 4,00 stroker sitting in the shop right now
I plan to build another with a 92 motor I have and
drop it in my 90 Dak with a 92 pcm and wire harness
I will be getting the rods and pistons from stroker
kits for this one and also plan on the SMT6 to
tune the fuel and timming on the dyno for best
power
Everyone who rides in my truck don't believe there
is a V6 under the hood they think I have a 360 I cant
wait to drop an S/C on it this spring, My last dyno
run I got 267/305 still short of the 300 I was shooting
for but the S/C will solve that, I will have about
$10,000 in the motor but its my ride and I love it

Forgot to ask don't you have a vortech on your V6
right now.
I found one for $2700 still pondering weather to
buy it or not.
If so are you intercooled or running a boost
retard.

Message: thanks for the input. i'm running a boost retard out of a crane box. yeah i have a vortech V-2. its blowgn oil so it has to get rebuilt as well. i have a superchip tuner as well so that might work for the fuel problem might add enough to handle it. i bought mine with all used parts. total cost ran around $2200 with the rebuild it adds a lil more but still worth it. i'm sure i'll have more questions later...........

Message: The tunner may just solve the lean out prob you
may not even have it at all with the newer system
this was a 95 with EGR so its a little differant
ball game.
You will love what the stroker crank does it don't
even seam like the same motor so much more low end
power and it gave me better gas mileage in my 4X4
having to work less to obtain the same speed
