having problems with cooling system, i recently had the water pump replaced, few months later truck runs hot again, mechanic down the street (the guy who changed the water pump for me) says there's a leak coming from inside some sort of aluminum housing near the water pump, he said it looks like a major job, anybody seen this type of thing before?...........any help is greatly appreciated, the sooner i get this fixed the better, deplyoing to Baghdad in a week and don't want to have to worry about it when i get home.

i think that aluminum housing hes talking about is the timing chain cover. could be the bypass hose leaking. when you changed the waterpump you should have changed the thermostat and that bypass hose.
