Message: I would say anywhere from 50 to 75 hp at the rear
wheels depending on how well it was tuned.
There is a local guy with the same setup on a 96
and he drives it every day to work and loves the
Vortech
I missed the kenny bell for $1700 when I got back
to him it was sold.
Found a Vortech setup for $2700, thinking about
it. Expensive but comes with everything to hook
it up including a map buffer

Message: Hey Greg555
Just talked about it on this thread
http://www.dodgedakota.net/boards/v6/6909.html
The only thing I did not do was the heads they
were done by KRC
sorrie to hear about the blow up
If you have any questions just let me know its
basicly like doing an ovehal just need to check
the clearance on the crank counter weights
othewise nothing to it at all

hahaha
Another thing I was thinking about the other day, all the oil the blower was blowing into the intake effectivly lowers the octane rating on the fuel. The gasket failure could of been caused by detonation. Either way we need to have the heads checked and possibly milled to make sure they arent warped....Somethings definitly up since it blew the gaskets out on both sides....

Message: Just out of curiosity...
How easy are superchargers to install and what all needs to be done/modified, before you can install one? I don't need any detailed instructions on HOW since I don't have near enough money for one or a dad who'd be willing to let his son put one on with 2 speeding tickets already on his record...lol.

If you have dodgeboy helping you I would not
worrie to much he will be able to handle doing
a storker, the biggest thing is watch the clearance crank counter weights to block and at
the bottom of the cyls and rod they are close
I did not have to touch the cyls just 1 spot
on the block in the back of the #3 #4 jounal
couter weight had to remove 1/8 from the block
it just touched nothing major though that you
guys cound not do yourselfs

Message: sounds good. yeah the heads are off. can get them looked at. gonna be tight getting all the money together at once but if we can get that crank in and running then i can have my truck again and be able to save for the heads/cam and then the blower rebuild. and all the extras........

Message: You will love what the stroker crank does to these
motors.
I would say it adds an easy 35 40 hp at the wheels
all by itself, I wish I would have dynoed with
just the stroker crank but I did a lot of other
things at the same time
