Message: I just baught a 89' sport 4x4 3.9 automatic. When I put it into drive or reverse it makes a "clunking" sound. When I'm in drive/reverse it moves without me touching the gas. It must be revving high. I'm wondering if theres a way to set the idle speed? The tranny fluid is low, I'm wondering if that will make a big improvment? Thanks for your help

Yes you can adjust the idle on your truck its a
selinoid on the throttle linkage and all you
need to do is turn the bolt on the plunger that
contacts the linkage

Message: I have a 1999 V6 2x4, The idle is just under 1000 at a stop and I hear a slight clunk when I shift into Drive or reverse.
It runs great otherwise.
Do I need to take it in for adjusment?
How much "play in the rear is OK" and how much does it cost to get the U joint fixed?
Thanks for your help.
