Subject: Vacuum leak?
IP: Logged

Message:
I am having a problem with my blower going from the panel vents to the defroster vents......only under acceleration when in R,D,1,2. This does not happen under throttle in Park!! I have changed the vacuum check valve (Dodge released a service bulletin on this):ALLDATA: I have pressure checked for vacuum leaks, I am at a loss. I would be greatful for any help before I spend money to change the Vent/Heater/AC controls. The dealer hasn't a clue.

1998 Clubcab,3.9 A.O.D., forced air induction, K&N filter, ported and polished throttle body, throttle body spacer, AIT relocation, Dynomax exhaust. 79,000 miles.

HELP!!!!

I need a great mind to colaborate with!!

There is a one way valve on your vacuum at youe heater box. If the one way valve is bad it will make your heater vents not work right. When under acceleration vacuum will go down. The valve holds vacuum for the heater vents.

Howdy All,

New here with a question pertiaing to this. I have a stock 1997 CC 3.9L AT that I am also having some vacuum problems with. This little truck tows every other weekend, and recently has problems when towing uphills while using the cruise control. The truck won't downshift, even if I push the accelerator all the way down when the cruise is engaged. If I cancel it, and then accelerate, it shifts like a champ. Also, during this time, the AC vents switch from blowing bilevel to blowing through the defroster as above. My guess is it is all related to a vacuum leak/problem. Is there a list of usual suspects I should check first? Does the cruise control rely on vacuum to maintain speed?

Please excuse my lack of intelligence on this subject, I am a defintie rookie in this arena.
