 Subject: 88 Dak Gauge Cluster

i have an 88 dakota 3.9L 4X4 I had a fire in the dash. I have replaced the wiring harness with another 88 wiring harness but the gauge cluster is from a 91. Does anyone know if this will work? The harness' all plug in ok but non of the gauges work. Any help would be appreciated also i am planning on lifting the truck a 4" lift and 3" body lift what is the biggest tires i can put on?

87-90 are the same,don,t know if they changed the 91s cluster
you can put 31x10.50 on a stock 88 4x4[i,ve done that]thats as big as will work with out cutting

why put big tires on a gutless pickup with stock tires. i have a 88 v6 4/4 dakota with n&n filter and it's still gutless, but runs good. screw those gauges and get after market gauges they are more accurate and less wires.
