 Subject: i figured out why dak is so slow

well i always felt like my dakota was way slow. But last weekend i got it up to about 97mph its a 87 std cab short bed 3.9L v6 auto 2wd. the needle only read 83 but when your stock tires are only 25.5inches tall and the swampers i got on the back are 29.6 inches it makes your speedo way off. and the fact that i figured out i got 2.71 gears in the 7.25 rear.

well, 2.7:1 gears would make just about any v6 feel slow. you should try bumping to 3.55, but if you have a 3 speed be prepared to lose some mpg.

if i go to new gears im gonna wait till i do 4inches of lift and 33s and put a 9inch ford back there w/ 4.30s and a detroit locker and i dont care about gas mileage

aint nothin wrong w/ rednecks especially in north carolina and i aint gotten around to buyin front tires yet but they will be up there soon so will 15x10 black rockcrawler rims w/ 4inch back spacing so there gonna be stickin out purdy good and my truck does say low-tech redneck across the windsheild for chits and giggles
