 Subject: Stalls after driving

My parents just bought me a 2000 Dakota Sport as a suprise. It's a 2wd 3.9L 5 spd sport. I love the power it offers and the interior. I just have a problem. I let my truck warm up for 15 minutes in the morning then drive 4 miles and it stalls on me when I get to a stop sign, then after that it runs fine, so far it has. What could the problem be? I also had the problem comming of the express way. the tach shakes real bad then it almost dies. I'm new to dakota's, Please help.
