i have a 87 4x4 with major carb problems been through it several times found out it has a two stage accel pump (found out from dodge guru} well myn is cracked and well the parts guy says sorry dealer part the dealer says ahh whats a carburator i need to know about a carb swap if anyone has done this its a great truck but i cant take the flat on face stall at every take off i believe the truck will run without the feedbcak to the comp any ifo would be helpful thanks

I rebuilt mine, go to local auto store and get a rebuild kid for 20 bucks. Took me a few hours. Hardest part is getting the dam thing off!!!

ok $20 rebild kit in hand now find me the two stage accelerator pump that i need that doesent come in the kit that the part i need all i get is stupid looks from the parts guy i even showed the man the part and he just said well i cant get it

can you take a picture of this part? That would be helpful. WHen you do let me know and i will give you my email and take a look at it.
Another thing you might want to invest in is a haynes manual for your truck. Very helpfull when working on it.

ok i have a haynes and a holloey haynes the part is called a pump steam and head assembly it goes on the accelerator pump shaft and slides into two seperate positions i wouldlove to find just a aceeelerator pump assembly unfourtunately the rebuild kit only comes with the new pump cone but if anyone has this part laying around collecting dust i plan on making several of them on my lathe passiably out of some better material to improve ttrottle responce and reliability i have done several other things to this carb to improve its flow dynamics including a very inexpensive delay timer for the feedback silonoid . i have been working with carbs for a very long time and this part seems to be uniqe to this carb i have scowered severl other holleys to find one with no luck.
