Message: Hello there Dodge guys, I have a problem but before I call the dealer for them to warranty the problem, I wanted to run it by you all..
I got a new 2003 Dakota and I drive 50 miles each way to work, all freeway miles and the new 3.9 just started stalling after a 50 mile run home from work stop at the gas station to get gas while I am filling up it will stall..
It will start right back up and run good and wont do it again untill I make the long run and put it in park and idle for 5 min then stall out again.. I have never seen anything like this before eighter it should run good or it should run bad..
It wont do it under load like at a light or anything like tht just while it is in park.. I also normally run 80 mph the whole way home 50 miles.. I con fused what do you think? Thanks the New Dakota owner

Message: I have a 99. Yesterday I went to start the truck and It acted like it wanted to start but never did. If I kept my foot on the gas peddle she stayed running, but as soon as I took my foot off she would die. "Need some help, where to start"??????

the injectors 2 years ago. Damn thing stalled
in the coffee drive-thru - ever see a 115 lb.
person try to push a 4,000 truck out of a curved
drive thru? I've heard that the stock ones can
be substandard.

Message: 2003 QC V6 almost stalls, usually after 5 minute warmup, go about 50 yards, no power/no stall throw into neutral and revved up, sounds like misfire, tick tick tick thru RPM range. Dealership replaced coolant sensor (no luck).Very hard to reproduce. Does it cold or hot, but will only do it every 500-750 miles. Dealership to hookup co-pilot in November (doesn't gen a code).
Occasional tranny slip (I heard this was common).

Message: LOL - yup still drinking java.
As far as the tranny slip goes, have you had
your governor pressure solenoid or
transducer sensor checked? Mine used to
slip, or double shift after 1st, got those two
sensors replaced and now it's fine.

So I called the dealer and he seemed to think it was a throttle positioning sensor that is eighter bad or lost it's program, what do you know about this little pain in the butt sensor???? Thanks new Dakota

Message: New Dakota....try cleaning the TB and sensor first. If the IAC sensor is covered in carbon (like mine was) it may fix your problem. When my TPS went on me it would rpm spike when I set the cruise on at about 70.
hope this helps
