 Subject: K&N Airhat mod

I purchased a K&N FIPK model # 57-1509 made for the 5.2L and 5.9L dakota engine. I, however, have a 3.9L and was wondering what modifications i would need to make to help it fit. Do i need to modify the airhat? get a entirely new one? I'm not too sure, thats why I ask you awesome people here! thanks a ton

the kit will bolt right on, some trucks have AC hoses close to where the tube goes, you may have to adjust the tube a little to keep from rubbing the AC hoses that's it
57-1509 kit will work on 97-99 models with or without CC and 00-03 models WITHOUT CC ONLY

thanks a ton bro, ill try it tuesday when it gets shipped. ill cross my fingers that thats all i have to do.......i took a chance. but hey, truck stuff can always be modded right? any other suggestions still welcome.

the 3.9 is just a 5.2 with 2 cylinders cut off, just about everything that will fit on a 5.2 will fit the v6 even superchargers for the 5.2 have been put on a 3.9

It will work just fine.
I have been putting the K&N cold air setup for
the 97 up on the older trucks because some
complain about the sound of the air on the older
trucks it was just a round crome 14" filter unit
the newer style with the tube silences the intake
noise
All I had to do was change the tube mounting and
they work good
