Message: Well, I am not sure what kind of CLEAR tape was used for weather stripping. But when I picked up a topper for my dakota, I went to Farm and Fleet, and they had a product that was specifically designed for topper weather stripping. It comes in a roll about one foot in diameter and is about 1/4" thick foam rubber. It was located near the paint section, and was in amongst weather stripping for doors and paint shields. It is sticky on one side and smooth on the other. This stuff was like $2.00. If that helps you at all. Good luck.
