Daily driver, most boost, and gas mileage-- the oxymoron---
Honestly-- if you want to run something like that-- stay naturally aspirated-- and run nitrous when you need it-- less wear and tear in the long run (for most), a LOT cheaper--- and in most all cases, makes more power.
Something to think about.

I have considerd nitrous but there is no low end
gain with it.
I agree though for most people an S/C or turbo
would be just to much for them to deal with and
nitrous would be easier for most.
But I always have to be differant than everyone
else. I have a few customers with the bottle and
its fine but only works at WOT.
For me having no gains untill I tromp it just is
not what I am looking for.
The KB S/C on the 5.2 shows a gain of 57 hp just
above 2000 rpm with a peak gain of 100 hp at 4700
The low end gain I would want more than always
having to nail it.
The choice is up to the individual but my mind is
made up what I am going to do with my V6 and my
Hemi truck, I could care less if the dealer voids
the warantee on the hemi, screw them I would never
let any dealer touch my vehicles unless to replace
a light bulb or something simple but there again
most don't have that option

now if you mean torque, you are very very wrong Larry. Nitrous is all about torque... not many people know it but most kits double the amount of torque output over the hp output. While a 100 shot of nitrous will add about a 100 hp... easily expect close to 200 ft/tq (on most V8s). I have seen several stock motor Z28s add close to 250 ft/tq with just a single 100 shot of nitrous. And the thing is that it is instant. Coming from a guy that has had both kinds of boost and nitrous, nitrous kills the rest with torque.

There you have it in the pic above
I have seen a few V6 running an S/C I am almost
positive the pic is a Eaton M 90
I know of a 96 with a paxon that runs strong the
guy drives it every day but I like the twin screw
design
The only thing you need to add is a MSD digatal
with a bost control retard from 1 to 5 degree's
or some type of boost retard you can also get a
map control that will run with the S/C and keep
your computer happy
I still say its easyer than doing a turbo having
to fab an exh system, I was going to do a turbo
but now I am bending more towards the S/C for my
Dak

Message: Thanks for the input. I think that I am leaning towards an Eaton supercharger (be it the M90 or M112), and yes Larry, that is an Eaton M90. I don't want to put nitrous on my truck for the simple reason that it scares me to death, and I have a lot of work to do before I would consider myself ready for nitrous. That is a little extreme for me. But I think with the overall census amoung the group the supercharger is the way to go. Now I just have to find out where to get an Eaton.

Just some thinking out loud here
Say you was to use a Eaton or Whipple SC on a 3.9, looking at the KB for the 5.2 & 5.9 they have a piece the conects the outlet of the SC to the top of the TB. What problems would arise if you removed the TB and piped the SC to the intake and relocated the TB to the intake side of the SC.
It looks like you would have less Vacume problems and easier to fine tune !!!
Just a thought

Message: There are a lot of S/C's set up that way with the
TB but I am not sure if that would create more
heat from the compreser or not from restricting
the intake side
My plan was to use an intercooler just behind the
grill and than back but I plan on trying it with
a straight shot more heat means backing off the
timing to avoid detination
The M90 is rated at up to 16 pound boost but you
can drop that to 8 lbs just right for our V6's
coming on strong just over 2000 rpm.
don't remeber the cfm. Have not checked out the
M112
I am also considering buying the used kenny bell
for $1700 has 10,000 miles on it the guy had
some finacial probs and had to sell his truck
not a very happy guy these days
