Message: i recently had a magnaflow muffler installed in my 99 3.9 club cab. to be honest, it sounds like crap. it sounds like a souped up honda 4-banger winding out down the highway. i am actually looking for a muffler that has a mild rumble instead of the annoying honda sound and one that is closest to an oem sound. several muffler shops recommended the dynomax super turbo. any ideas? how about the delta flow 50 series or the gibson on a v6. any other suggestions would be appreciated greatly!! if i wanted a v8 sound i would have bought the v8. all i want is the added performance of an aftermarket muffler without the honda noise. rumble is ok. thanks for your honesty and suggestions!!

Message: Andy , I've got a Gibson split rear system on
my 2000 3.9 and I couldn't be happier with it. It
improved the performance across the board.
People have told me that it sounds like a V-8
which in my humble opinion is far better than
a hot Honda. Just my two cents worth!

Message: i have a dynomax flo-pro muffler w/ dual 2 1/4" pipes out the back, and i'm very pleased with the way it sounds. it's rather deep and very mellow. it's a deep rumble at idle and a smooth mellow tone when accelerating. i did get a bit too much resonance for my liking at first, then i put on some hedman hedder 2 1/2" tips w/ resonators and they did wonders.

Message: I like my Gibson single-out. Sounds a lot like a v8 at idle, and like a V6 the rest of the time. Run it easy and you can leave the neighborhood without waking everyone up. You can get the muffler only, aluminized, for under $100.

Message: i must say i got a dynomax super turbo installed
on my vehicle the other day and it is a major
improvement over the magnaflow i had in it. no
honda 4 banger sound. nice rumble at idle. hardly
noticeable at highway speeds. this, i believe,
most closely resembles an oem sound.
rob, in answering your question, i have the
magnaflow muffler in my back yard. if you want it,
i will sell it. believe me, it will cost you no
where what i paid for it. it has one week and 300
miles on it. it is aluminized not stainless and in
good condition.

Message: I just put a K&N Cold Air kit 57-1517 and a Dynomax 17733 on my New 01 Club Cab 3.9 The throttle response is great and the butt dyno can tell a difference to! Being a new truck I didn't have the heart to scrap that nice SS exhaust system just yet, the Dynomax is 2.5 in & 2.5 out all you need is a 11" piece of 2.5 in/out and it bolts right in place of the stock muffler in about an hour or two. The sound is nice for a V-6, at idle it rumbles like a V-8 , stomp on it you get a nice mellow growllll and as soon as you let up or get to cruising speed you don't even know it's there !
If anyone would like photos of the K&N or the Dynamax install I would be glad to e-mail them
