Message: I have a '92 2wd with auto and overdrive. I have located a '92 b150 van with low miles and good 3 speed. Will this work in my truck? The physical transmission looks the same and measures up, but will the electronics be compat?

Message: yes, it should bolt right up... I think they are both LA... As for the overdrive... On the 3 speed auto there will be no place to plug over drive in because it does not have it. As I recall your over drive goes from the buttom of the dash right down to your trans. Just let that ole wire hang. Your cooler lines will be different. There is a bolt with threads on both sides. One end goes into the trans and the other hooks to the lines.... This will have to be changed... Take one off each trans and run to napa. Tell them you need this part with one of each ends (they will set ya right up). The other major problem is your lines will be too long. Take and make them shorter by adding a bend in the line. (I used a brake line bunder) Then adjsut your linkage as needed. Remember if your linkage is not adjusted right your truck my not start.
Your speed-0 cable my be to long.... I just curved mine around to fit... I don't know how long it will last but it works for now. You need to figure out the gear ratio of your third gear on the 3 speed and the gear ratio on your 4OD auto and make sure they are pretty close to the same otherwise your speed-0 will be off.
I did this and it was more of a headace then anything, but I love the three speed to death. I also added an inline cooler.... My truck is now lower geard than it was so the speed-0 is off but I can pull anything!

Message: The only electronics is an Oval shaped plug near the gear linkage. The only thing this controls is the Torque Converter lock-up and O/D. Oh yeah & your Back up light switch. It's an A500 (Hydraulic) tranny.
Good Luck,
