Will the 1.7 rollor rockers give my v6 a more aggressive sound from the exhaust. If it simulates a larger cam then I assume it will sound better. Any input?

not too bad. you just have to make sure that the cylender you are working on is at TDC while installing the rockers.
well worth the time and money

The only way to get a more agressive sound out of that 6 is to put a cam in it. Then you will sould close to an 8.

TDC= Top Dead Center.
you need a wratchet/socket set, breaker bar, and a 1 1/4" socket.
my set cost $299 from the dealer (the guy worked the price down about $50) for my 5.2. it comes with the rockers, pushrods, studs, guide plates and everything else.

an easier way to find tdc than using a 1 1/4 socket and breaking bar is to disable your ignition and fuel pump (relay). then take out the spark plug on the cylinder you are working on...stick your finger in the spark plug hole and have a friend crank your engine over by turning the key, but just a second at a time until you feel pressure on your finger....that's the way i did it.....hope it helps....i have pictures of my install, too...

thats the same way i did it, but i didnt touch the fuel relay. i just took out the battery (had to, to get the MP valve cover on)

one time i only disabled the ignition and turned the engine over....it let out the loudest back fire i ever heard.....scared all of my neighbors....probably broke something!;)

Toast: The V6 is an "Odd-Fire" engine. It won't sound even close to a V8 (the odd-fire V6's have a much higher pitched sound and the "lope" won't sound the same either).

Now what about an even fire 6?? My buddies Grand National has a even fire 3.8 v6 and it sounds pretty close to a V8. Some people even walk up to the car and asked him if he had a 350 in it or not.

You're talking about a different engine. I've heard several turbo-buick's that didn't sound like anything at all...just the whistle from the turbo and then a woosh...they're gone! :)
