Subject: fuel guage IP: Logged
Message: I just installed a new fuel pump in my 1994, My guage was acting a little goofy with my old pump. It would go up and go to empty within five miles. The pump finally went, i replaced it with a new carter. It runs great, but no guage. It reads empty. Anyone have any ideas, i dont think I installed it wrong. I checked the harness that runs into the pump, and it was fine.

Message: Are you sure you pluged in or knocked off the
plug onside on the sender.
Or bad ground
should have replaced the sender right away if
you guage was already acting up

Message: Also, If you didn't line the pump up just right the float lever hits the side of the tank. You have to drop the tank, pull the whole assembly out, Line up the float lever to make sure it doesn't hit side of tank, Re-Install.
Next time a Honduh wants to race Ask him how many sheets of plywood he can haul?

Message: I know the harness that clips to the top of the fuel pump is plugged in. I thought the sending unit was part of the pump? Where is the sender? It might be hitting, but i lined up the pressure regulator and the overflow tube to point at the gas filler, thats the way it was supposed to point. I dont see why it would be hitting.I am doing a body lift soon, so i might just do it then, i dont want to have to drop the tank for the third time since i owned the vehicle. Oh and thanks larry and shank. oh, could it just be a faulty pump?
